On a day when the U.S. crossed the 80,000 death-toll threshold, Alabama has added at least 293 new cases. Seven more Alabamians died today, bringing the number of men, women and children who have died in our state to 390.
Friends, this crisis did not have to unfold this way. South Korea and the USA experienced their first deaths on the same day, February 6. Since then, South Korea's death toll has reached 256, far fewer than those witnessed right here in Alabama. Compare the population of South Korea (over 51 million) to Alabama (4.9 million). Meanwhile, the U.S. has seen over 80,000 people die and that number will likely double by the end of June.
